Microphone not recording when Voicetracking

If you trying to voice track in PlayoutONE and the audio you're voicing out of and in to is playing but the recording device isn't recording anything, then it could well be your recording device sample rate settings.

Your input device needs to be set to the same rate as your playback device otherwise it won't work.

Check and Change Settings

Open your Microphone Properties window and choose the Advanced tab. You should see something similar to this:

You can see the default format is set to 2 channel, 16 bit, 48000 Hz. Now open the properties for the output device you're using, choose the Advanced tab and hopefully you will see something similiar to this:

As you can see the default format is the same at 16 bit 48000 Hz.

If either one is different then make a choice which needs to be the same, close PlayoutONE for good measure and then apply the changes.

When you restart PlayoutONE you should find you can now record and your voicetracking is now working again.
