Hardware Tab

The Settings Hardware tab contains general settings for PlayoutONE as described below:

Setting Name Description
Player 1 This is the audio device that will be used for Player 1
Player 2 This is the audio device that will be used for Player 2
Player 3 This is the audio device that will be used for Player 3
Player 4 This is the audio device that will be used for Player 4
Stream Player This is the audio device that will be used for the Stream Player (This Player is used when a Stream is played via the Stream Play command)
VT & Record Device This is the audio device that will be used for the input when either recording to a Quick Key, or recording a Voice Track
Input Channel This is the audio device that will be used for the input channel of your above VT Record device. If in doubt, set as the same as the VT & Record device.
Mic Mute Device This setting is used for PlayoutONE Standard:
This is the audio device that will be used for Audio pass-through from a microphone, it is used in conjunction with the Microphone icon in the top left of PlayoutONE which allows you to mute and unmute this device.
Line / Ext Device This is the audio device that will be used for muting when the LIVE MUTE ON or LIVE MUTE OFF commands are called, for more information please see this article: Broadcasting Audio from the input on the Soundcard
Quick Key Device This is the audio device that will be used for playing audio from your Quick Keys. You can also edit any quick key individually and chose the device that quick key plays from.
Mix Player This is the audio device that will be used for the Mix player when using the MIX PLAY command, for more information please see this article: Commands
Net Player This is the audio device that will be used for the Net player when using the NET PLAY command, for more information please see this article: Commands
Cue / Prefade / Monitor This is the audio device that will be used for editing audio or using the pre-fade buttons within PlayoutONE
WebVT® LiveMIC Device This is used to feed PlayoutONE Studio Monitor with a combined output of PlayoutONE. Use this in conjunction with a Virtual Audio Cable to generate a return feed for WebVT® LiveMIC.
Use ASIO This will enable using ASIO rather than WDM. Note: This requires a restart of PlayoutONE to take effect.
Turn on PlayoutONE debugging You might be asked by PlayoutONE Support to enable this option as this writes detailed logs. It shouldn't be turned on unless instructed by PlayoutONE Support.
