Logging PlayoutONE audio with Audio Engine

PlayoutONE's Audio Engine works as an audio logger, creating recordings from your station's output. This guide will walk you through the steps to set it up:

  1. In Audio Engine, click the Settings button in the bottom right corner.

  2. Click on an output bus which isn't in use.

In this eample, we'll be using Output B for logging audio.
  3. Give it a name (for example, 'Logging') and select the destination type as 'File'.

You can toggle 'Share output from bus' on and choose your existing audio output for your logger to match an existing output's configuration or leave it off to manually choose which players to record on the Settings screen.

  4. Switch 'Enable logging to this folder' and choose where you want to save the files.

  5. Configure additional options like how long you want to retain audio logs, file type, and other audio options.
  6. Press 'Save'
  7. Ensure green dots are present next to each of the audio players you want to be recorded to the log file.

In this example, bus B is being used for audio logging, with players 1, 2, 3 and 4 being recorded.
  8. Press 'OK' to close the Settings window.
